Prairie View, Texas – Prairie View A&M senior guard Shala Dobbins scoring a game-high 19 points, to pull the Lady Panthers to a 79-46 victory over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's team Monday night at the William J. Nicks Building.
Senior forward Artavia Ford had 13 points and junior guard Dominique Newman added 11 points for the Lady Panthers (13-11, 10-4 SWAC). Sophomore forward Jhyrah Cobb also had 10 points and 9 rebounds for Prairie View A&M.
Junior guards Atitiana Vincent and Noe'll Taylor were again the catalysts for UAPB (5-17, 2-13), which never got into any kind of offensive flow and shot only 28.8 percent (15 of 52) for the game. Vincent finished with 14 points and Taylor had 10. Senior center Shawntayla Harris ended with nine points. In addition UAPB hit just 12 of their 27 free throws.
The Lady Panthers were 27 of 57 (47.4 percent) and knocked down 19 of 22 from the free-throw line.
The Lady Lions, though, had their moments and led 4-2 with 8:50 left in the first quarter after Taylor's lay-up, but a jumper from senior guard Erin Willis started a string of 10 consecutive points for Prairie View A&M.
The Lady Panthers went to lead 48-22 at the half and went on to seal the victory.
UAPB is back at the H.O. Clemmons Arena on Saturday when the Lady Lions face Grambling St. at 3 p.m.

· Taylor and Harris each had 6 rebounds for the Lady Lions.
· Junior forward Katherine Darden led UAPB with three assists.
· Dobbins also had 19 points in the Lady Panthers' 80-41 victory over the Lady Lions on Jan. 28.
· Both teams finished with 17 turnovers apiece.
· In the two regular-season games between the teams, Prairie View A&M has outrebounded UAPB 81-61.
