Men’s Basketball Falls To North Texas

DENTON, TX.-  Junior Nicholas Jones scored a career-high 17 points, but it was not enough as North Texas defeated the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff 86-53, Saturday at the Super Pit in non-conference action. 

Both squads traded buckets early in the first half before the Mean Green pushed their lead to double digits as the first half expired with a 41-24 lead.

UAPB came out shooting better in the second half going 11-for-21 from the field at 52%, but it was not enough in the comeback against North Texas.

Jones scored a game-high 17 points, followed by junior Dequan Morris with 12 points.  Senior Marquell Carter had a team-high seven rebounds. 

UAPB will be back in action as the team travels to Pullman, WA. Dec. 29 for a matchup against Washington St. at 7 p.m.
