Three Second Half Goals Lead Soccer Over Alcorn St.

ALCORN, MS. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff soccer team won two consecutive conference games in a dominant 4-0 win over Alcorn St. on Friday evening at Spinks-Casem Stadium.
 
"I think we controlled the tempo of the game," said first-year UAPB head coach Jeremy Winzer. "We were a little timid in the first half but came out strong in the second half to put the game away. We also got a chance to see some of our younger players in action, and that's a good thing."
 
Senior Sarah Wright led the Lady Lions with two goals and one assist while junior Alexis Sander and freshman Amanda Mouton with one goal apiece.  Freshman Trinity Taylor and senior Sariah Orocu made two saves apiece to earn the shutout and UAPB limited Alcorn St. to just five shots.
 
UAPB returns to action on Sunday when it plays against Mississippi Valley St.
