The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Jackson St. Sunday evening at Pumphrey Stadium on Senior Day.
Both squads battle throughout the game, before going into intermission tied at 0-0. The Lady Tigers would go on to score late in the second half to seal the win in conference play. Â
"The game was a tough battle, and we got beat in the box," said first-year UAPB head coach Jeremy Winzer. "We had struggled in the box all season, but we have to be a little tougher going in the match. We're still in the hunt for a good seed in the conference tournament. As of right now everything is still wide open heading into next week."
Senior Sarah Wright led the Lady Lions with two shots on goal, followed by junior Amanda Mouton with one shot and one shot on goal.Â
UAPB will be back in action Friday against Prairie View at 7 p.m. in Prairie View, TX.Â
