For the second time in as many matches, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff churned out a balanced attack, but this time they outlasted its opponent by defeating Grambling St. in five-sets 25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 18-25, 15-11, Thursday night at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
"We got the job done tonight," said first-year UAPB head coach Chelsey Lucas. This game is all about playing hard and smart. I've been emphasizing with the ladies all week about outworking the other team until the end. Also this week was all about mental practice, and it definitely helps as we came out with the win."
The Lady Lions had four student-athletes in double-digits in kills versus the Lady Tigers.
Freshman Zyaire Garrit had a game-high 15 kills for the Lady Lions, followed by freshman Zyonn Smith, sophomore Kaila Robinson, and Haley Gomez with 10 kills apiece.
