Volleyball Falls At Prairie View

PRAIRE View, TX. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff volleyball team fell to Prairie View A&M 15-25, 17-25, 24-26 in game one of a two-game road trip Sunday at the William Nicks Building.
 
The Lady Lions got off to a slow start in set one as the Lady Panthers took advantage and went on to claim all three sets in conference matchup.
 
"We played well, but we can't afford to make mistakes on the road and expect to win key games," said first-year UAPB head coach Chelsey Lucas.  "We've got to buy into the game plan coming in. But overall, I saw some good things, and hopefully we can stick to it as the season goes on."
 
Freshmen Zyairie Garrit and Zyonn Smith led the Lady Lions with six kills and two blocks apiece, followed by sophomore Kaila Robinson with four kills and seven digs. Sophomore Breana August had a team-high 12 digs, including three assists. 
 
UAPB will be back in action for their final two-game road trip against Texas Southern Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Health & PE Arena.
