Soccer Falls To Howard

Despite promising first half, a pair of late Howard goals defeated the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff soccer team 2-0 Friday at Pumphrey Stadium.

The loss ended a three-game winning streak for the Lady Lions, the longest since 2016.

"I really appreciate how my ladies came out and maxed the energy, but we have some things we have to clean up," said first-year UAPB head coach Jeremy Winzer. "We had some players that had some great look on goals, but we have to maintain our discipline."

Junior Tori Spigner led the Lady Lions with one shot and one shot on goal, followed by freshman Lizeth Martinez who had two shots on goals.
 
The Lady Lions will be back in action at home next Friday against Southern at 4 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. against Jackson St. on Senior Day.
