PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions football team opened up Southwestern Athletic Conference play with a 62-13 loss to Prairie View A&M University at Simmons Bank Field.
By the end of the first quarter, Panthers quarterback Jalen Morton accumulated nearly 200 years on the ground and scored twice as Prairie View led 35-3.
"Put it all on me," said UAPB head coach
Cedric Thomas. "Our defense was bad. I have to do a better job during the week preparing our guys for the game."

Skyler Perry finished the game with a team-high 75 yards rushing and 174 yards in the air (23-for-45) while junior running back
Taeyler Porter finished with 59 yards rushing.

On the defensive end, junior
Jalen Steward finished with a team high 7.5 tackles in the loss. Senior
Kevin Agee finished with six tackles and a sack while teammate
Je'Kevin Carter finished with six tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
UAPB (1-3, 0-1 SWAC) returns to action on Saturday, September 29 as it travels to Miami to face Florida International University in non-conference action. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (eastern) at Riccardo Silva Stadium.
