BATON ROUGE, La. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions tennis team competed in tennis matches against Louisiana State University, falling 7-0 and 4-0 in Baton Rouge. In the opening match, Jualon Greig and Sajid Rahman and had the top two spots for UAPB and both fell in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) respectively. Teammate Simon Lewis battled but also lost in straight sets (6-1, 6-0) while fellow Golden Lion Le'Darrien Ledbetter nearly pulled off the upset, fighting for each point before falling in straight sets (6-4, 6-1).

Later on, Rahman and Ledbetter both competed in singles matches before falling in two sets (6-3, 1-2) and (6-3, 3-0) respectively.

In doubles competition, Rahman and Greig fell 5-2 while Simon Lewis and Khusto Ledwaba lost 6-2.

UAPB returns to action on Friday, February 2 to face Ouachita Baptist University. First serve is set for 2 p.m. in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
