MEMPHIS, Tenn. (March 4) -The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team dropped a 12-1 decision in their third game of the Blues City Classic here Saturday afternoon at Softball Stadium.

UAPB finished the contest with four hits, whereas LTU finished with 13.

The Lady Lions had four players to finish with one hit each in
Ta'Lyn Moody,
Monique Nikolao,
Maria Aguilar and
Shanice Akins.Â

LTU was led by Jessica Ball with three hits.
Â
Bailey Allen (4-1) received the win for LTU. She pitched five innings allowing four hits, one earned runs and striking out three in the 19 batters she faced.

Karia Beth Hall (1-8) received the loss for UAPB. She pitched four innings, allowing 13 hits, eight earned runs and striking out one in the 30 batters she faced.

The Lady Techsters jumped out to an 11-0 lead with LTU plating five runs in the bottom of the first inning and six runs in the bottom of the second inning.Â

UAPB lit up the scoreboard in the top of the third inning with Aguilar scoring on a Moody single down the left field line, making the score 11-1 in favor of LTU.

LTU scored their final run of the contest in the bottom of the third inning for the 12-1 win invoking the eight-run mercy rule.
