MEMPHIS, Tenn. (March 4) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team defeated Tennessee State, 10-2 to pick up their third win of the season, here Saturday night at Softball Stadium in their final contest of the Blues City Classic.


UAPB finished the contest with 10 hits, while TSU tallied two.
 
The Lady Lions was led by Alexandria Taylor with three hits in four at-bats, scoring three runs and driving in five on the day.
 
Both Casey Cox and O'Kane finished with one hit each to lead the Lady Tigers.
 
Karia Hall (2-9) received the win for UAPB.  She gave up two hits, two earned runs and striking out three in the five innings of work.
 
Lauren Powell (1-5) received the loss for TSU.  She gave up eight hits, five earned runs and striking out six in four and one-third inning of work.
 
TSU jumped out to a 2-0 lead with the Lady Tigers plating two run in the top of the second inning.
 
UAPB pushed across three runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 3-2 lead.  Shanice Akins scored on a TSU error.  Then both Tonnay Hawkins and Taylor would score with Hawkins scoring on a wild pitch and Taylor scoring on an Aguilar single.
 
The Lady Lions plated three more runs in the bottom of the fourth and four in the bottom of the fifth invoking the eight-run mercy for the 10-2 win.
