UAPB (11-13, 8-5 SWAC) was led by
Niya Head with 14 points from off the bench.Â
Shawntayla Harris was the only other Lady Lion to score in double-figures with
Shawntayla Harris scoring 13 points and pulling down 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.

ALCN (8-16, 8-5 SWAC) was led by Alexus Freeman with 11 points and eight rebounds.

UAPB took a 24-18 lead on a Harris layup with 5:23 left to play in the second quarter.Â

ALCN used an 8-0 run to take a 26-24 on a pair of Henrietta Wells free throw with 3:35 left to play in the half.

The Lady Braves went into the break with a 31-30 lead over the Lady Lions. UAPB finished the first half shooting 51.8 percent (14-of-27), whereas ALCN shot 34.3 percent (12-of-35).

Destiny Brewton scored the first five points of the third quarter to give the Lady Lions, a 35-31 lead with 7:45 to go.  UAPB then extended their lead to 41-31 with on a Harris field goal with 3:53 left in the quarter, capping a 10-0 run by the Lady Lions.

The Lady Braves answered with an 8-0 run to cut the Lady Lions' lead to 41-39 on Tia Sanders jumper with 1:53 remaining in the third.

In the fourth quarter, ALCN took a 52-43 lead on a pair of Head free throws with 6:58 to go in the contest, capping an 8-0 run by the Lady Lions.

The Lady Braves pulled within two on a Briana Luton three pointer with 5:28 to go to cut the Lady Lions' lead to 52-50, capping a 7-0 run by the ALCN.

 UAPB would outscore ALCN, 9-6 in the final five minutes for the 61-56 final.

UAPB finished the contest shooting 50.0 percent (23-of-46), whereas ALCN shot 31.3 percent (5-of-18).
