BATON ROUGE, La. (Jan.14) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Women's Basketball team dropped a 67-50 decision to Southern University, here Saturday afternoon at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.

In the loss, UAPB lowers their record to 4-11 overall and 1-3 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play, where SU raises their record to 6-7 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

The Lady Lions was paced by
Faith Ohanta with a team high nine points, followed by
Shawntayla Harris with eight and
Noe'll Taylor with seven points and six steals.  Ashlee Daniel led the Lady Lions on the boards with seven.

SU had two players to score in double-figures with Skylar O'Bear scoring a game high 17 points. O'Bear finished the contest nailing five three pointers in seven attempts and finishing the contest six-for-nine from the field. Briana Green was the only other Jaguar to score in double-figures with 14 points. Courtnei Purnell led SU on the boards with 11 and Rishonti Cowart dished out a game high six assists.

UAPB went into the break trailing SU, 44-24. The Lady Lions finished the contest shooting 28.1 percent, while the Jaguars shot 48.1 percent.

The Lady Lions will return to action on Monday, January 16 in a 5:30 p.m. start against Alcorn State at the Davey L. Whitney Complex in Alcorn State, Miss.
