Box Score Itta Bena, MS. - After coming off a brutal road schedule against some of the top teams in the nation, senior Kayla Dowdell led the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff volleyball team  to a 3-0 win in a cross state line rival match over Mississippi Valley Delta Devilettes Tuesday night at the HPER Complex with set scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 25-18.  
   
The Delta Devilvettes started the first set on a 17–11 run, but the Lady Lions stormed back to take the lead 23–22 off a kill by Lauren Corby.  After that point UAPB went on a 3–0 run, to create some separation to take the set 25–22.  

The second set started as a back-and-forth affair, but with the score tied at 21–21, the Lady Lions started dominating the set and went on a 4–1 run to take the set 25–22.

The third and final set went the Lady Lions way 25–18, after jumping out to an early lead, and pulling away with a 15–8 run with the score tied at 10–10.

Katy Hufnagel supplied UAPB with 20 assists for a match-best, while Kayla Dowdell led the Lady Lions attack with a game-high nine kills with one error.
 
Lauren Corby was a major contributor on offense and defense with six kills, six digs, three blocks and two assists.  Natalie Gibbs registered six kills and one block, three digs and Courtney Brand finished with 16 digs.
 
The Lady Lions are back in action Tuesday, Sept. 23 when they host Fisk University for another non conference game at 6 p.m. at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
