UAPB FALLS TO TALLADEGA COLLEGE, 83-73

Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. (Nov. 20) - In their home opener, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Women's Basketball team had four players to score in double-figures in an 83-73 loss to Talladega College, here Friday evening at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
 
UAPB (0-3) was paced by Diamond Richardson with a team high 18 points, followed by Destiny Brewton with 15 and Ajia Richardson with 11.  Niya Head finished the contest with a double-double in 13 points and 13 rebounds.
 
Talladega (6-1) was led by Tatyana Calhoun with a game high 31 points.  In addition, she pulled down nine boards and dished out five assists in the contest.  Tashieba Henry also finished in double-figures for the Lady Tornadoes with 11. 
 
Ajia Richardson and Head scored the first baskets of the contest for the Lady Lions to give UAPB a 4-2 lead with 7:09 to go in the first quarter.
 
TC answered with a 10-4 run to take a 12-8 lead with 3:03 left to play in the first, capped off by a Tajanee Wells layup.
 
TC took a 16-12, after one quarter of play.
 
The Lady Tornadoes opened the second quarter of play with a 13-6 run to take a 29-18 lead on a pair of Henry free throws with 4:41 remaining in the quarter.
 
Both teams scored 14 points apiece in the final five minutes of the quarter as TC took a 41-32  lead over the Lady Lion into the break.
 
UAPB finished the first half shooting 45.2 percent (14-of-31), whereas TC shot 46.9 percent (15-of-32).
 
The Lady Lions cut TC's lead to five points on a Diamond Richardson jumper with 6:28 left in the third quarter, making the score 49-44 in favor of the Lady Tornadoes.
 
TC ended the third quarter with an 18-6 run to take a 67-50 lead, after three quarters of play.
 
 In the fourth quarter, UAPB would cut TC's lead to eight points on a Diamond Richardson jumper with 1:05 left in the contest as the Lady Tornadoes held on for the 83-73 win.
