PARKER HELP LEAD THE WAY FOR UAPB MEN AT THE J.D. SMITH INVITATIONAL

Juwun Parker makes his final attempt as he captured first place in the J.D. Smith Invitational

Norman, OK. – Sophomore Juwan Parker continued to dominate the long jump and a number of athletes continue to set their personal bests Saturday evening as the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men track and field team competed at the J.D. Smith Invitational, hosted by the University of Oklahoma. Parker also finished in the top seven in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.10.

Other highlights for UAPB were top-5 finishes by senior Matthew Agard finishing fifth in the (1 mile run) with a time of 4:33.68, junior Jerrel Wilson finishing second in the (400m) with a time of 50.20, freshman LaMarques Woodard finishing third in the (400m) with a time of 51.52, freshman Richard Colin finishing fifth in the (400m) with a time of (51.77), and Junior Kevin White claiming fourth place in the (600 yard run) with a time of 1:15.39. In addition, UAPB 4x400m relay team also finished second with a time of 3:24.96 (LaMarques Woodard, Jerrel Wilson, Kevin White, Richard Colin).

UAPB will travel to the A-State Scarlet and Black Invitational in Jonesboro, Arkansas Saturday January 24, 2015.
