Solomon Bozeman is entering his sixth season as head coach at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and has quickly established himself as one of the rising coaches in NCAA Division I men's basketball. Since arriving in Pine Bluff, Bozeman has transformed the Golden Lions into one of the Southwestern Athletic Conference's most competitive programs through player development, recruiting, and an exciting brand of basketball. Under his leadership, more than 15 student-athletes have signed professional basketball contracts overseas, while numerous players have earned All-SWAC, Newcomer of the Year, and All-America recognition.
In 2025-26, Bozeman guided the Golden Lions to a 13-18 overall record and a 10-8 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) mark, finishing tied for fifth place among the league's 12 member institutions and earning a berth in the SWAC Tournament. UAPB emerged as one of the conference's most balanced teams, ranking No. 2 in offensive efficiency, No. 3 in scoring offense (77.4 points per game), No. 3 in field goal percentage (.452), No. 3 in three-point field goal percentage (.345), and No. 2 in three-point field goals made (7.6 per game). Defensively, the Golden Lions were the SWAC's top team in defending the three-point line, ranking No. 1 in opponent three-point field goal percentage (.327). The balanced attack and defensive discipline helped establish UAPB as one of the conference's most improved programs.
During his tenure at UAPB, Bozeman has coached multiple student-athletes to conference and national recognition. In 2021-22, Sean Doss earned All-SWAC honors and was named a BOXTOROW Second-Team All-American. In 2022-23, Shawn Williams was selected First-Team All-SWAC, earned SWAC Newcomer of the Year honors, and received BOXTOROW All-America recognition. In 2023-24, Rashad Williams continued the tradition by being named SWAC Newcomer of the Year and Second-Team All-SWAC. In 2025-26, Quion Williams was selected First-Team All-SWAC after leading the conference in assists while averaging 17.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game, establishing himself as one of the league's premier all-around players.
Bozeman has built a reputation as one of the SWAC's top player-development coaches, producing professional talent while consistently improving his teams on both ends of the floor. His emphasis on discipline, player growth, and an up-tempo offensive system has resulted in multiple All-Conference performers, professional players, and one of the league's most exciting brands of basketball.
Before taking over at UAPB, Bozeman spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Oral Roberts University, where his impact was instrumental in player development and recruiting. His efforts helped the Golden Eagles capture the 2021 Summit League Tournament Championship and earn the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2008. ORU went on a historic run as a No. 15 seed, advancing to the Sweet 16 with upset victories over No. 2 seed Ohio State and No. 7 seed Florida, the program's first Sweet 16 appearance since 1974. Among his recruiting successes at ORU were Deondre Burns and RJ Glasper, who earned All-Conference and Newcomer Team honors.
Bozeman also spent two seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, where he played an instrumental role in the recruitment and development of standout guard Rayjon Tucker, who later played in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers. Prior to his return to Little Rock, Bozeman spent two seasons at Abilene Christian University, recruiting three All-Conference selections, Jaylen Franklin, Jalone Friday, and Kolton Kohl, who helped lead the Wildcats to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
As a player, Bozeman was one of the most decorated student-athletes in Little Rock history. He earned AP All-America Honorable Mention, Sun Belt Conference Student-Athlete of the Year, and Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year honors. His defining moment came during the 2011 Sun Belt Tournament Championship when he knocked down the game-winning three-pointer with 1.5 seconds remaining to lift the Trojans to a 64-63 victory over North Texas and send the program to its fourth NCAA Tournament appearance. Following his collegiate career, Bozeman played professionally in the NBA D-League and overseas.
Bozeman holds a master's degree from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. He and his wife, Myla, have been married for seven years.
