Appeared in one game during his true freshman season, gaining valuable experience while transitioning to the collegiate level and preserving a year of eligibility.

High School:
Graduated from Pine Bluff High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where he established himself as one of the state's top quarterbacks. Earned Arkansas All-State honors while serving as a team captain and leading the Zebras to a conference championship. Finished his prep career with 2,848 total yards and 35 total touchdowns, showcasing his dual-threat ability as both a passer and runner. As a senior, he threw for 2,569 yards and 31 touchdowns, while adding 274 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns, helping lead Pine Bluff to one of the program's most successful seasons.
