University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Head Football Coach Alonzo Hampton has announced the hiring of Donovan Jackson as the Golden Lions' new Offensive Line Coach. Jackson brings with him a remarkable 18-year coaching career that spans high school, college, and the NFL, and is known for his championship pedigree, player-first development approach, and deep knowledge of the game.

A proud graduate of Norfolk State University, Jackson was a two-way standout on the offensive and defensive lines, ultimately serving as team captain during his collegiate career. After playing professionally in the Arena Football League, he transitioned into coaching and launching a career that has become one of the most diverse and dynamic in the sport.

Jackson's coaching journey began at the high school level, where he spent six years as an assistant before becoming the youngest head football coach in North Carolina at age 27. His college career included stops at Norfolk State and Savannah State University (MEAC), before ascending to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) as an offensive line assistant at LSU, where he contributed to both Fiesta Bowl and National Championship seasons.

On the professional level, Jackson held internships with several NFL teams, then joined the Green Bay Packers in 2021 as a Scouting Assistant, later being promoted to Pro Scout with the Minnesota Vikings in 2022. In 2023, he returned to coaching as an Assistant Offensive Line Coach with the Seattle Seahawks, helping guide the team to a 9-8 finish under legendary coach Pete Carroll.

Most recently, Jackson served as Interior Defensive Tackles Coach at the University of Washington under Steve Belichick, son of NFL coaching legend Bill Belichick, further extending his reputation as a high-level developer of linemen.

"Coach Jackson brings an elite level of experience and leadership to our program," said Coach Hampton. "His background speaks for itself from coaching and scouting in the NFL to winning at the college level. He's a valuable addition to our staff and will make a lasting impact on our student-athletes."

Off the field, Jackson is a devoted family man and community leader. He and his wife, Lindsey, have four children: Enzo, Franco, Maisie, and True. He remains grounded in faith and committed to mentoring the next generation of athletes and leaders.
