Don Treadwell was named UAPB's assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach in October, 2020.

Treadwell brings more than 30 years of college coaching experience to the Golden Lions program, all on offense. His affiliated teams have made four playoff appearances at the FCS level, played in 10 FBS bowl games, and won an FCS National Championship at Michigan St.

Treadwell just concluded his third stint at Michigan State, coaching defensive backs (2018) and wide receivers (2019). In Treadwell's first stint with the Spartans (2000-02), he oversaw the wide receivers corps. He later returned to Michigan State (2007-10) as offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach, highlighted by winning the 2010 Big 10 Championship and earning three bowl game appearances.

The championship led Treadwell back to his alma mater, Miami, Ohio, where he served as head coach (2011-13). He then moved to Kent State as running backs coach (2014), and later transitioned to offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach (2015-17).

A four-year starter at wide receiver at Miami, Ohio, (1978-81), Treadwell began his coaching career at Youngstown State as wide receivers / running backs coach (1986-91) and offensive coordinator (1991), helping the program to four FBS playoff appearances and the National Championship following the '91 season. He then returned to Miami, Ohio as wide receiver / running backs coach (1992-93), before positions at Cincinnati (wide receivers coach 1994), Stanford (running backs coach 1995-96), Boston College (passing game coordinator / quarterbacks / receivers coach 1997-98), and North Carolina St. (running backs coach 1999).

Treadwell has also served as offensive coordinator / wide receivers coach at Ball State (2003), and later at Cincinnati (2004-06). Treadwell also was selected for the NFL's Minority Fellowship Program with the San Francisco 49ers (1989, 1990).

Treadwell is married to Lola, and the couple has three children – daughter Whittney, and sons Blake and Spencer.
