University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Head Football Coach Alonzo Hampton has announced the hiring of Damian Wilson as the Golden Lions' new Assistant Offensive Line Coach.

A former SWAC student-athlete and accomplished offensive lineman, Wilson brings a strong foundation of collegiate playing experience, a deep understanding of offensive line play, and a passion for player development that will benefit the Golden Lions' front line.

A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Wilson began his college career at Alabama State University (2017–2019), before continuing at Virginia State University (2019–2021) and Edward Waters University (2022). He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Marketing from Virginia State University in May 2022.

Following his playing career, Wilson wasted no time transitioning into coaching, quickly gaining a reputation as a rising star in the profession. In 2023, he returned home to serve as Varsity Offensive Line Coach at G.W. Carver High School in Montgomery, where he helped shape young athletes both on and off the field. He then spent time at Germantown High School in Memphis, Tennessee in early 2025 before accepting the opportunity to join UAPB.

Known for his technical teaching, attention to detail, and player-first approach, Wilson is committed to developing offensive linemen who are disciplined, fundamentally sound, and physically dominant. His coaching philosophy centers on building young men of character who approach the game with purpose and pride.

"We're excited to welcome Coach Wilson to our staff," said Coach Hampton. "He's a young coach with great energy and a strong grasp of offensive line play. His experience as a player in this conference gives him a valuable perspective that our student-athletes will benefit from immediately."

Wilson joins a revamped offensive staff focused on strengthening UAPB's physical presence up front as the Golden Lions gear up for the 2025 season.
