Alex Farah enters his first season with the Golden Lions after being hired as the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach at Independence Community College in 2021.
 
The Fall 2021 season was full of offensive success for the Pirate offense which averaged 38.4 points per game. The Pirates’ high powered offense helped lead the Pirates to a 2021 Jayhawk Regular Season Championship. 3 Pirate offensive lineman signed to Division 1 programs, including James Neal (Iowa State), Venly Tatafu (UTSA), and Thomas LeBoucher (TBD). During the Spring 2021 season Farah served as the Offensive Coordinator/Running Backs coach. The Pirates offense ended the Spring season ranked in the top 10 in 6 different statistical categories including 241.4 yards rushing per game (5th nationally), 6.3 yards average per rush (3rd nationally), and 266 passing yards per game (3rd nationally). Three Pirate offensive players signed to Power 5 programs, Brock Domann (QB, Louisville), Tavion Thomas (RB, Utah), and Brandon Baldwin (OT, Michigan State). The Pirates offense had two All-American Honorable Mentions/1st Team All KJCCC players, Brock Domann (QB) and Nate Damron (TE), one 1st Team All KJCCC player, Deyavie Hammond (OG), and two 2nd Team All KJCCC players, Anthony Garcia (OC) and Denzil Alleyne (WR). 
 
Farah joined Indy following a successful season at Hutchinson Community College from 2019-2020 as the Offensive Line Coach. While at Hutch, Farah helped lead the only offense ranked Top 10 in all rushing categories and sacks allowed. Their offense averaged 246.3 rushing yards per game, rushed for 44 touchdowns, and only allowed 11 sacks across 12 games. He coached 1st Team All-Conference/All-American Jazton Turnetine, 2nd Team All-Conference D’Marius Warren, and Conference Honorable Mentions Conner Lierz and Stevie Young.
 
Farah began his career as an Offensive Line Coach at Glenville State College in Glenville, WV during the 2018 season. Prior to his stint with the Pioneers, Farah spent one season as an offensive graduate assistant coach at Texas State University under current Baylor Offensive Line Coach, Eric Mateos. He went to Texas State after serving in a similar capacity at Appalachian State under current Mountaineer Head Coach, Shawn Clark.
 
The Mountaineers joined the FBS ranks in 2014 and won the Raycom Camellia Bowl in 2015 and in 2016 after capturing a share of the 2016 Sun Belt Conference championship.
 
Farah helped coach a pair of 2016 All-Sun Belt Conference First-Team offensive linemen Parker Collins and Colby Gossett, and All-SBC Second-Team selection Beau Nunn. 
 
Farah was named a graduate assistant after serving four seasons as a student assistant coach for the Mountaineers where he worked with Appalachian State’s inside linebackers in 2011 and 2014 and the defensive line in 2012 and 2013. The Mountaineers won the Southern Conference and played in the NCAA Division I FCS Playoffs in 2012. 
 
A native of Matthews, N.C., Farah played offensive line at Butler H.S. and helped lead the Bulldogs to state championships as a junior and senior (2009 and ‘10). He graduated from Appalachian State in 2014 with a B.S. in business administration.
