Christian Peters has been named HBCU National Player of the Week

Fuquay-Varina, NC - Arkansas-Pine Bluff quarterback Christian Peters has been named HBCU National Player of the Week. Peters, a graduate student from Charlotte, N.C., compiled 352 yards of total offense in the Golden Lions' 24-20 victory over Alcorn State before a crowd of 21,442 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis.

Peters brought the Golden Lions from behind twice, first throwing a 22-yard touchdown pass to Ellis Stewart late in the second quarter to give UAPB a 17-13 halftime lead. He then scored the game-winning touchdown on a 1-yard touchdown run with 5:39 remaining in the fourth quarter. He finished the day 20-of-32 (63 percent) for 323 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions and rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Peters will be highlighted on the nationally syndicated sports talk show BOXTOROW with Donal Ware which airs on radio stations across the country, and outside of the U.S. in The Bahamas and British Virgin Islands.
