#UAPBFootball: BJ Curry and Trey Glymph Earn Preseason All-SWAC Honors

BIRMINGHAM, AL. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff's running back BJ Curry and placekicker Trey Glymph have been named to the 2025 Preseason All-SWAC Football Team, the Southwestern Athletic Conference announced Monday. The honors were voted on by members of the league's media.

BJ Curry, a native of Magnolia, Arkansas, is coming off a strong sophomore campaign and is recognized as one of the most dynamic returning running backs in the conference. Heading into the 2025 season, Curry ranks among the top 12 rushers in the SWAC. A powerful and consistent force in the Golden Lions' backfield, he totaled 480 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 114 carries during the 2024 season.

Known for his field vision and physical running style, Curry helped control the tempo of UAPB's offense throughout the year. His standout performance includes a season-high 94 rushing yards against Texas Southern and a two-touchdown game against Prairie View A&M, highlighting his ability to perform in critical moments.

On special teams, Trey Glymph, a product of Alpharetta, Georgia, solidified himself as one of the most reliable kickers in the SWAC. In 2024, he was one of only three placekickers in the conference to finish the season perfect, going 100% on both field goals and extra point attempts. Glymph finished with 55 total points, placing him among the top scorers at his position.

Glymph's consistency was instrumental in UAPB leading the conference in PAT efficiency, converting 35-of-35 extra point attempts. He also recorded a season-high two field goals against Texas Southern, showcasing his poise and accuracy under pressure.

The Preseason All-SWAC recognition highlights the impact both players are expected to make as the Golden Lions prepare for the upcoming season.
