#UAPBGolf: Men's Golf Finishes in Second at the ASU Invitational

After being down 23 strokes in round one, UAPB battled back to finish second at the ASU Invitational
Montgomery, AL.- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's golf team finished in second place out of 10 teams at the Alabama State Invitational last weekend, held at the Arrowhead Country Club.

The Golden Lions concluded the two-day, 54-hole tournament eight strokes behind first-place Kentucky State, which finished with a score of +30 over 606. Although UAPB had a slow start on the first day being down 23 strokes, the Golden Lions bounced back and finished strong on the second day, posting a score of +4 over 292, for an overall tournament score of +30 over 614. Texas Southern and Miles tied for third with a score of +46 over 622, while Tennessee State and Alabama A&M tied for fifth at +50 over 626, rounding out the top five.

Sophomore Robin Duzmann made his debut with the Golden Lions, leading the team by placing sixth overall with a score of +7 over 151. He was followed closely by sophomore Jose Berenguel, who tied for seventh with a score of +8 over 152, rounding out the top ten.

Freshman Jonathan Baumann shot +11 over 155 to finish in 14th place, while sophomores Timur Alain and Jules De Reu ended the tournament tied for 17th with a score of +12 over 156.

The Golden Lions will return to the greens on February 23-25, as they travel to New Orleans for the Gulf Coast Collegiate Invitational.
