TALLAHASSEE, FL - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Cross Country teams wrapped up their 2025 season with determined performances at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships. The Golden Lions men's squad earned a 7th-place team finish in the 8K race, clocking a total team time of 2:32:01 and averaging 30:24 per runner, while the women's team secured 9th place overall in the 5K with a combined time of 2:01:40 and an average of 24:20.
Leading the men, Don Kasigwa paced the Golden Lions with a strong showing at 28:29, followed by freshman Altaveon Grant at 30:00, and Kewarny Fletcher close behind at 30:18. Rounding out the top five scorers for UAPB were Noah Padggett (31:09) and Kevin Horns (32:04), both battling through the rolling course to help secure the team's mid-pack conference finish.
On the women's side, Glorie Kabuin led the charge with a season-best 20:04, breaking the 21-minute barrier for the first time this fall. Senior Kris-Ann Plummer and freshman Ashley Robinson also turned in gritty efforts, finishing in 20:55 and 23:06, respectively. Young runners Destinie Woodall and Chandan Hester rounded out the lineup to close out the team's scoring total, each showing promise for the future of the program.
Head Coach Christopher McCoy and staff praised the teams for their consistent work ethic throughout the season, emphasizing the growth of both rosters and the potential for continued improvement heading into track season. Despite a competitive field and challenging conditions, the Golden Lions represented UAPB with pride and perseverance — finishing their 2025 campaign with momentum and unity.
