CONWAY, AR - UAPB Cross Country kicked off the 2025 season in Conway with a strong showing, as both the men's and women's teams placed fourth in the 3-mile run at the UCA Bear Invitational. The Golden Lions set an early tone for the fall, battling through a deep field and showing promise in their season debut.

On the men's side, junior Don Kasigwa led the Golden Lions with a 22nd-place finish, crossing the line in 15:53.5. Freshman Altaveon Grant followed in 16:35.4 for 28th place, while junior Kewarny Fletcher ran 17:25.1 to place 30th. Freshman Kevin Horns clocked 17:28.3 for 31st, just ahead of fellow freshman Noah Pasguin, who finished in 17:29.0 for 32nd. Their efforts combined for a solid team score that secured UAPB's fourth-place finish overall.

In the women's race, junior Glorie Kabuin paced the Golden Lions, placing 19th with a time of 19:36.1. Senior Kris-Ann Plummer added a 21st-place finish in 20:34.7, while junior Ashley Robinson crossed in 23:14.0 for 26th. Freshman Chandan Hester contributed a 29th-place showing in 31:06.3, and junior Aryonna Simmons finished right behind in 30th at 31:52.8. Together, the Golden Lion women matched the men's effort, also earning fourth place in the team standings.

The Golden Lions now turn their attention to their next challenge: the Steve Guymon Invitational at Harding University on September 12th.
