PINE BLUFF, AR --The UAPB men's basketball team held Prairie View A&M to just 16.7 percent from deep in a 3-for-18 shooting performance, but fell 75-64 to the Panthers at home Monday.
The Golden Lions had two players score in double figures, led by Christian Moore, who had 22 points and seven rebounds. Doctor Bradley tacked on a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds and Quentin Bolton Jr. added eight points, eight rebounds and two steals.
Bolton Jr. pulled down three offensive rebounds to lead the UAPB offense which grabbed 21 boards and turned them into 21 second chance points.
UAPB forced 14 Prairie View A&M turnovers. The Golden Lions turned those takeaways into 16 points on the other end of the floor. Bolton Jr.'s two steals led the way for UAPB.
How It Happened
UAPB started out the scoring by going on an 8-0 run, culminating in a three from Raphael Dumon, to take an early lead with 16:14 left in the first half. The Golden Lions then lost some of that lead, but still entered halftime with a 33-29 advantage. UAPB relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down five shots to account for 15 of its 33 points.
Prairie View A&M then erased the UAPB lead in the game's final quarter for a 75-64 comeback victory. UAPB took care of business in the paint, recording 28 of its 31 points in the lane.
