AUSTIN, TX --The Golden Lions men's basketball team got a 28-point performance from the bench, but fell 121-57 to the Texas Longhorns on the road Sunday.
The Golden Lions had two players score in double figures, led by Christian Moore, who had 14 points. Dante Sawyer tacked on 12 points and two steals and Quentin Bolton Jr. added four points and six rebounds.
How It Happened
UAPB struggled out of the gate, falling behind 66-26 heading into halftime.
UAPB came out of halftime clicking on all cylinders, going on a 7-0 run, finished off by Raphael Dumon's layup, to shrink the deficit to 66-33 with 18:23 to go in the contest. Texas responded and outscored the Golden Lions the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 121-57. UAPB took care of business in the paint, recording 22 of its 31 points in the lane.
