PINE BLUFF, AR --Kylen Milton totaled 11 rebounds and Ismael Plet added 10 more, but the UAPB men's basketball team fell to the Alabama State Hornets 83-72 at home Monday at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.

Milton and Plet's fantastic rebounding performances led the Golden Lions in the contest. Milton tacked on 16 points and Plet added seven points and four assists. Rashad Williams also helped out with 14 points.

UAPB took advantage of fantastic ball movement in Monday's game, piling up 16 assists on 24 made field goals. Plet's four assists led the distribution list for the Golden Lions and Lonnell Martin also contributed with three assists of his own.

How It Happened

After falling behind 8-5, UAPB went on a 7-0 run with 16:03 left in the first half to take a 12-8 lead. Alabama State then responded to tie things up at 37-37 heading into halftime.

Alabama State then snagged a 69-59 advantage before UAPB responded by going on a 7-0 run, finished off by Williams' three, to shrink the deficit to 69-66 with 4:14 to go in the contest. Alabama State responded and outscored the Golden Lions the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 83-72. UAPB took care of business in the paint, recording 18 of its 35 points in the lane.
