#UAPBCrossCountry: Men’s And Women’s Compete At UCA Bears Invitational

CONWAY, AR.- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's & women's cross-country team competed at the UCA Bears Invitational hosted by Central Arkansas on Saturday morning. The men's placed third of seven teams at the event, finishing with 89 points. The women placed third of our seven teams with 102 points, headline with two top-25 finishers.

On the men's side, three Golden Lions finished consecutively, all placing inside the top 25. Senior Tarik Xavier led the pack, placing 20th with a time of 15:48.7, followed by junior Genesis Joseph coming in at 21st with a time of 15:56.8, and junior Ryan Longmire in 22nd with a time of 16:02.2. Freshman Inertia Mugehti placed 27th with a time of 16:21.8, junior Terrance placed 28th with a time of 16.27.3, and senior Rio Williams placed 30th to round out UAPB with a time of 16:32.8.


On the women's side, the Golden Lions had two student-athletes placed within the top 25, led by senior sophomore Kris-Ann Plummer, who placed 21st with a time of 20:01.7, followed by Akili Pleas-Carne, who placed 22nd respectively with a time of 20:41.1. Junior Shaunia McFarlane placed 26th with a time of 21:17.4, freshman Kaiel Kimble placed 28th with a time of 21:46.6, finished strong for UAPB, along with junior Cheriece Cope placing 35th with a time of 22.41.2 and junior Raina Perry placed 38th with a time of 25:25.5, falling in after the cap off of UAPB's top-five finishers.  


The Golden Lions next event is Friday, September 8, when they travel to Southern Arkansas to participate in the SAU-Lois Davis Invitational.
