PINE BLUFF, AR. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's volleyball team opens their 2023 campaign with a road matchup at the Texan Invitational, hosted by Tarleton State in Stephenville, Texas. 

The Lady Lions are expecting another successful season under second-year head coach Gabrielle Floyd. 

"We have a lot of strong, positive energy and we're ready to play," Floyd stated about the Texan Invitational. "These young ladies are excited and prepared to get started. so we're going to do as much damage as we can starting off."

The Lady Lions are looking for their fifth consecutive berth in the SWAC tournament at the end of the season. 

"We have some new faces on our team, so it is very important that we bond," Floyd said. "Most teams who bond and play well together, usually have the better match. We're going to bring great energy this weekend and let the game flow."

The Lady Lions will start with Incarnate Word on Friday afternoon before their doubleheader on Saturday against Tarleton State and Northern Arizona.
