Shaun Doss Jr Named To SWAC All-Conference First Team

Birmingham, AL.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference officially announced their end of the season awards for the 2022-23 men's basketball season on Tuesday evening. Shaun Doss Jr. was named SWAC All-Conference First Team by the league coaches and Sports Information Directors.

Capping off his career with another dominant season, Doss a Marion, AR., native was a strong contender for SWAC Player of the Year, as he led the conference in scoring the entire season 2022-23 season. Doss have caught the eyes of several professional scouts, and he's well-known throughout the country for his IQ of the game and his scoring ability. Doss leadership and experience have been significant for UAPB, which allowed him to capture his third all-conference award in a Golden Lion uniform.

Doss led the conference in scoring and ranked 79^th in the nation, averaging (17.7 ppg), second in (SWAC) FT percentage (.824), fourth in (SWAC) FG percentage (.417), 10th in (SWAC) steals with a total of (42),16th (SWAC) in block shots with a total of (18), and 18th in (SWAC) assists with a total of (65). Doss finished the season with two games scoring over 30 points and two double-doubles.

Doss was named SWAC Player of the Week Jan. 24, and scored a season-high 32 points against Jackson St. He's also on the watch list of the 2023 HBCU All-Stars game that will be held in Houston, TX.
