Pine Bluff, AR. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff football opens its preparation for the 2022 fall season as its student-athletes officially report for fall camp today, with practice opening Friday morning at the Lion's Den (Simmons Bank Field) beginning at 9 a.m.
The Golden Lions are coming into this season confident as the season approaches, as the bulk of the squad spent most of the summer on campus working out and preparing their home opener. The report day included meeting with academics, compliance, sports performance, and the athletic equipment staff in the Thomas May Fieldhouse.
UAPB opens its preseason fall camp that spans the month of August with its first of two helmet-only practices in the NCAA-mandates acclimation on Friday, Aug. 5.
The Golden Lion's practices will take place during the next few weeks from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Each afternoon includes team, unit, and position meetings and work in the weight room with UAPB's Sports Performance staff.
UAPB football's preseason camp schedule features 13 practice sessions before school starts on Monday, Aug. 22, when the team moves into its in-season schedule. The docket (listed in full below) also includes a scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 27, as UAPB prepares for its season-opener at home against Lane College on Sept. 3.
