HOUSTON, TX --UAPB volleyball team got the job done in straight sets (25-21, 25-17, 25-15) to defeat the Texas Southern Lady Tigers Sunday on the road at Health & PE Arena.
The win improved the Lady Lions' record to 8-20 overall and 6-8 in SWAC action.
Kaila Robinson finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Lady Lions attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .259. got 13 digs from Breana August along with five blocks from Kori Diego to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Lions grabbed control of the set-one lead at 5-4 and held the lead the rest of the way to win 25-21. UAPB led by as many as six points at 21-15 before closing out the set, totaling 15 kills in the process.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, UAPB put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-17 victory in set number two. The Lady Lions never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 8-7 in a set that showcased two lead changes before UAPB took over the lead.
SET 3 | UAPB took the third set to win in straight sets. The Lady Lions scored first and never trailed in the set to earn a 25-15 victory. UAPB opened up as much as a 12 point lead at 19-7 before closing out the set. The UAPB offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza. UAPB's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Texas Southern attacks in the stanza and capitalizing on 10 Texas Southern attacking errors on the way to victory.
