Houston, TX. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team dropped game three 6-2 of the season finale against Texas Southern at Memorial Park.

The Lady Tigers jumped out to a (1-0) in the bottom of the first inning, before UAPB responded in the top of the third inning to tie the game at (1-1), when senior Shanice Akins singled up the middle, scoring sophomore Ashaunti Stinson who reached base earlier on a walk.

In response, the Lady Tigers added four runs at the bottom of the third inning and one run in the fifth inning to add to their lead (6-1).

UAPB would push for a rally in the top of the sixth inning when Akins hit a double down left-field line, followed by senior Anne Gerwitz singled to right field, scoring Akins to cut the deficit to four (6-2), but it was not enough in the comeback.

Akins led UAPB at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI, followed by Gerwitz going 1-for-3 with an RBI. Freshmen Jasmine Carlson and Samaria Jackson had one hit apiece for the Lady Lions.
