#UAPBBaseball Heads To Baton Rouge For Series Against Southern U.

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team hits the road for a three-game series against Southern U. this weekend.

The first pitch is set for Friday, April 30 at 6 p.m., followed by game two Saturday, May 1, at 2 p.m., and game three Sunday, May 2 at 1 p.m.

This will be the second meeting between the two teams since the first meeting at the inaugural Lone Star Diamond Classic in Frisco, Texas.

The Golden Lions returned to league play after dropping a heartbreaker midweek game, 3-2 against UT-Martin.

The Golden Lions are led by junior Kacy Higgins at the plate, batting .306, followed by senior Nick Kreutzer, who's tied for fifth in the conference in home runs and 10th in the conference slugging percentage .549.

Junior Karsten Vasquez tied for sixth in the conference in doubles with eight.

The Jaguars are coming off a three-game series to Monroe-Louisiana, led by Tremaine Spears, who leads the plate, batting .327.
