#UAPBBaseball Welcomes Texas Southern For Weekend Series

Pine Bluff, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team will host Texas Southern in a conference three-game weekend series at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex at Bill Jones Field. With rain in the forecast for today, the schedule has been altered for the first two days. The teams will play a doubleheader in the series opener Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by game two. The series finale is set for Sunday, April 18, at 1 p.m.

This is the second meeting between the teams this year, with UAPB winning the first series 2-1.

The Golden Lions are coming off a two-game non-conference matchup against top-rank Arkansas Razorbacks.

Junior Kacy Higgins leads the Golden Lions at the plate, batting .342, followed by senior Nick Kreutzer, who's tied for sixth in the SWAC Conference in home runs with five.

Texas Southern is coming off a midweek loss against Oklahoma. The Tigers is led by Oscar Ponce, who leads the team at the plate, batting .317.
