#UAPBSoftball Falls To North Texas

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team wrapped up their series, dropping game three against North Texas 8-0 at the Torii Hunter Softball Complex.

The Mean Green jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning before adding five more runs in the next four innings to wrap up the series.  

Senior Deeanna Harrington led the Lady Lions at the plate, going 2-for-2, followed by Shanice Akins going 1-for-2.

We knew going into this series that North Texas pitchers were good," said UAPB head coach Michael Bumpers.  "This was one of those matchups that allowed us to see some good pitching and where we want to be in the future. We're looking forward to getting back into conference play with a healthy team."

The Lady Lions will be back in conference play on the road against Southern U. in Baton Rouge, LA.

The first pitch is set for Thursday, April 15 at 3 p.m., followed by a doubleheader Friday, April 16, beginning at 1 p.m.
