Conway, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team dropped a pair of games on day two at the UCA Adam Brown Tournament. The Lady Lions dropped game one 8-0 to the UCA Sugar-Bears and game two 7-2 to Mississippi Valley St. Devilettes

UCA got going early, scoring four runs in the first inning, as they raced out 8-0 to clinch game one.
The Lady Lions were led by junior Jade Martinez and senior Shanice Akins with one hit each.
GAME 2 Mississippi Valley St. 7 UAPB 2
In game two, junior Jade Martinez got UAPB on the board first in the bottom of the second inning, scoring sophomore Desiree Bumpers, who reached base earlier with a single through the right side.
The Devilettes took the 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth inning before the Lady Lions responded to tie the game 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Devilettes would tack on five more runs in the next two innings to seal the win.
Martinez led UAPB at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs, followed by junior Felicia Drake and Bumpers, both with two hits apiece.
The Lady Lions will be back in action for their home opener Tuesday, March 9, in a doubleheader against Tennessee Martin at the Torii Hunter Softball Complex. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m., followed by game two.
