Q: If a prospective student-athlete signs a National Letter of Intent (NLI) with an institution but then decides to attend a different institution, what is the penalty for not fulfilling the NLI?

A: The prospective student-athlete would lose one year of eligibility in all sports and also must serve one year in residence at his/her next institution.
