The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff volleyball team (2-1, 2-1 SWAC) returns to action Friday, Feb. 5th, as it hosts in-state foe Philander Smith College in the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
The match will begin at 6 p.m. and will be stream online at uablionsroar.com/live and free on the UAPB Athletics App.
"We are looking forward to being back home against Philander Smith," said UAPB head coach Chelsey Lucas. "Tomorrow game is about executing, starting strong and playing at a high level. In the match against Southern U. last weekend, it was a team effort, we had players from the bench and on the court that played a role in helping the team."
The Lady Lions are coming off a big road win against Southern U. 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-20.), dominating all three sets.
Sophomore Nikole Akamine chipped in 12 assists for the Lady Lions, and junior Ambria Schneringer added nine. On the defensive side, Gomez led all players with a game-high five blocks, and junior Breana August rounded out with nine digs.
The matchup will be the Lady Panther's first match of the season led by first-year head coach Jazmine Washington. UAPB won the last meeting in 2013, 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 26-24).
