#UAPBSoccer Remain Undefeated With Shutout Over Lyon College

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Soccer team continues to light up the scoreboard as the Lady Lions shutout Lyons College, 3-0 in their second consecutive non-conference matchup at J. Marshall Huser Soccer Field. Freshman Tobi McCoy led the way scoring all three goals for UAPB in the first half.

McCoy had an impressive start as she beat out the goalkeeper in the box, scoring the game's first goal at the 6:35 min mark. McCoy wasn't done as she scored the second goal of the game off an assist from Junior Cameron Rodriguez in the 24th min mark.

As the intermission approached, senior Amanda Mouton dished off a pass to the corner for McCoy's third goal of the game in the 39th min mark.

UAPB had a total of 23 shots, with freshman Mccoy who led the way with nine shots, six shots on goals, and three goals, followed by freshman Iyannah Hicks with seven shots and four shots on goals.

Junior Kimberly Moss got the shutout for the win with four saves.

"I was very pleased with how the ladies started the game and control the tempo," said UAPB head coach Erik Solberg. "This game tested what we needed to focus on and prepare us for conference play this weekend."

The Lady Lions is scheduled to be back in action at home to begin conference play on Friday, Feb. 26, against Texas Southern at 3 pm at Pumphrey Stadium.
