The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball team is set for battle this weekend at the Miami Holiday Classic in Coral Gables, FL. 

The Lady Lions, currently holding the longest active win streak in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, captured their third straight win after defeating Arkansas Baptist College 96-27 on Monday night.

Reigning player of the week Khadijah Brown had a perfect night for the Lady Lions with 14 points to lead the way shooting 7-7 from the field. Brown added 10 rebounds to record her third double-double of the season.

The Lady Lions head into their second straight tournament in back-to-back weeks. UAPB recently won the Lady Eagle Thanksgiving Classic after defeating host Southern Miss and Southeast Missouri State.

In preparation for the Miami Holiday Classic, head coach Dawn Thornton has her crew sitting at .500 through the first six games for the first time in her tenure at UAPB.

"We're going with the game plan that fits us best and gives us the best chance to win," said Thornton. "We're taking it one game at a time. When it's time, we'll play hard and execute the plan to the best of our ability. One thing that's going to be evident about this team is that we have fun, love each other, and share the basketball. Those variables will never change."

The Lady Lions will face Tulane on Saturday at 3:30 P.M. (CT).
