The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball team fell to SMU on Tuesday night by a score of 86-74.
The Lady Lions had five players in double figures tonight, led by Kaila Walker with 15 points shooting over 50% from the field. Tyeisha Juhan scored 13 points, Joyce Kennerson and Sade Hudson chipped in with 12 points, and Zaay Green had 10 points to go with 10 assists and seven rebounds.
UAPB got off to a good start only trailing 17-14 at the end of the first quarter.
The Lady Lions found themselves down by 13 midway through the second quarter before Kaila Walker sparked a run with seven points to help the Lady Lions cut the deficit to 39-34 at halftime.
UAPB came as close as 48-48 in the third quarter but couldn't grab a lead and came up short late in the game.
The Lady Lions begin conference play at home on Jan. 3rd, 2022 hosting Alabama A&M at 5:30 p.m.
