11/30/2021 10:45:00 AM

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff former football standout and New Orleans Saints tackle Terron Armstead is the top vote-getter among NFC tackles, according to the first returns of Pro Bowl voting released by the NFL Wednesday, November 24. Armstead has tallied 44,135 fan votes and counting.

If selected, this will be his 4th pro bowl appearance dating back to 2018. A third-round draft pick in 2013, Armstead took over starting left tackle duties as a rookie and has not looked back.

Since his time with the Saints, he has started 90 of the 94 games he has played.

The Cahokia, Illinois native, was rated the third-best offensive tackle in all of football in 2015. Armstead was the Saints Man of the Year in 2019 and the team nominee for Walter Payton Man of the Year, including a 2018 pro bowl starter. A student of the game as a Golden Lion, Armstead was a two-sport athlete competing in football and track.

Armstead played in 37 career games, being a starter in his final 32 at left tackle. He pulled in 314 knockdowns while working to become an eight-time champion for the track and field team. He earned All-Southwestern Athletic Conference and All-American honors as a senior.

The Golden Lion family is proud of Mr. Armstead and wishes him continued success throughout.
