Shaun Doss Jr. scored a career-high 31 points and recorded his third straight double-double with 10 rebounds as the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's basketball team defeated Alabama St. 91-82 at home Saturday in the H.O. Clemmons Arena.

Joshuwan Johnson recorded season highs in points (25) and assists (nine) along with three steals as the Golden Lions (3-8, 2-0 SWAC) remained undefeated in league play.

Dequan Morris scored 13 points and was a perfect six-of-six shooting from the field, and Jalen Lynn added 10 off the bench for the hot-shooting Golden Lions, which shot a season-high 59 percent from the field.

UAPB utilized great ball movement in Saturday's game, piling up 17 assists on 32 made field goals. Johnson's nine assists led the distribution list for the Golden Lions.

After falling behind 6-4, UAPB went on a 10-0 run with 16:34 left in the first half to take a 14-6 lead. The Golden Lions then lost some of that lead, but still entered halftime with a 35-34 advantage. UAPB did most of its first half damage in the paint, scoring 20 of its 35 points close to the basket.

Following intermission, UAPB kept widening that lead, expanding it to 65-60 before going on an 8-0 run, finished off by Jalen Lynn's three, to grow the lead to 73-60 with 8:49 to go in the contest.
