The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's volleyball team will take on the Southern University Jaguars on the road tomorrow in Southern University's first game of their season at 5 p.m. in Baton Rouge, LA at the Clifford Seymour Gym in their third SWAC matchup of the 2021 Spring Season.
The Lady Lions are looking to bounce back after their recent lost against Prairie View A&M last Monday with a score of 3-0 (26-28, 18-25, 21-25).
UAPB's Zyonn Smith leads the team with 30 kills and 18 digs followed by junior Haley Gomez with 15 kills and 12 blocks on the defensive end only in two games in the 2021 season. Nikole Akamine leads the team with an impressive 39 assists followed by Ambria Schneringer with 34 assists. 20 of those 34 assists came from the Lady Lions' recent matchup against Prairie View A&M.
UAPB currently leads Southern in recent matchups over the past 10 years with a record of 11-10, looking to improve to 12-10. UAPB won last year's matchup with a final score of 3-1.
