LORMAN, Miss. -- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball team rallied but lost another close game to Alcorn 57-54 on the road Monday night.

Kyeonia Harris scored 10 points and had two steals and Jayla Atmore added nine points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals.

UAPB shared the ball well in Monday's game, racking up 10 assists on 20 made field goals. Atmore's four assists paced the Lady Lions.

The UAPB defense was a problem for Alcorn in Monday's game, forcing 29 Alcorn State leading to 19 points on the offensive end of the floor. Atmore's three steals led the way individually for the Lady Lions.

Trailing a 24-12, UAPB went on a 6-0 run, highlighted by a bucket from Harris, to narrow its deficit to 24-18. The Lady Lions continued to chip away, reducing the Alcorn State lead to 25-20 heading into the break.

Following halftime, UAPB kept the Lady Braves from growing their lead before going on a 5-0 run to tie things up at 31 with 4:16 to go in the third. The Lady Lions couldn't advance their rally further as the Lady Braves took a 44-40 lead into the fourth quarter. UAPB played well near the basket, scoring 12 of its 20 points in the paint.
Alcorn State kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 48-42 advantage before UAPB went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Trasity Totten's three, to shrink the deficit to 48-47 with 5:41 to go in the contest but could get no closer.
