CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball team lost at Central Arkansas 72-54 Friday at the Farris Center.
Kayla Simmons scored a season-high 12 points, with
Kaila Walker scoring 11 points and adding six rebounds.
Khadijah Brown added eight points and nine rebounds, one bucket and one rebound shy of a double-double.
Trailing 18-9 after one quarter, UAPB battled back early in the second. Brown made a pair of free throws and, following a UCA free throw,
Jahnay Anderson's three-pointer and a basket inside by Brown cut the Golden Lion deficit to 21-20 with 6:40 to play until halftime.
However, UCA would not give up the lead, and led 37-26 at halftime before taking control of the contest in the third quarter.
